രണ്ടാം ലോക മഹായുദ്ധത്തിന് ശേഷം നേരിട്ട ഏറ്റവും വലിയ വെല്ലുവിളിയാണ് കോവിഡെന്ന് ജി 20 ഉച്ചകോടിയിൽ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി നരേന്ദ്ര മോദി. കോവിഡ് വാക്സിൻ, ചികിത്സ, പരിശോധന തുടങ്ങിയവയിൽ ലോകം വലിയ മുന്നേറ്റമാണ് നടത്തിയതെന്നും ഇവയെല്ലാം ഏവർക്കും ഒരുപോലെ ലഭ്യമാക്കാനുള്ള സാഹചര്യമൊരുക്കുകയാണ് ഇനി ആവശ്യമെന്നും ഉച്ചകോടിയിൽ സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് മോദി പറഞ്ഞു. ജി-20 നേതാക്കളുമായി ഫലപ്രദമായ ചർച്ചകൾ നടത്തിയതായി മോദി പിന്നീട് ട്വീറ്റ് ചെയ്തു.

കോവിഡ് സാഹചര്യത്തിൽ വെർച്വലായാണ് ഉച്ചകോടി. ഇന്ത്യന്‍ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി നരേന്ദ്ര മോദിക്ക് പുറമെ അമേരിക്കന്‍ പ്രസിഡന്‍റ് ഡൊണാള്‍ഡ് ട്രമ്പ്, റഷ്യന്‍ പ്രസിഡന്‍റ് വ്‌ലാദിമിര്‍ പുചിന്‍, ചൈനീസ് പ്രസിഡന്‍റ് ജി പെങ്, ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ബോറിസ് ജോണ്‍സന്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെടെ അംഗ രാജ്യങ്ങളുടെയെല്ലാം ഭരണത്തലവന്മാരും അതത് രാജ്യങ്ങളുടെ റിസര്‍വസ് ബാങ്ക് ഗവര്‍ണര്‍മാരും അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര സംഘടനകളുടെ പ്രതിനിധികളും ഓണ്‍ലൈനായി സമ്മേളനത്തില്‍ പങ്കെടുത്തു. ഉച്ചകോടിക്ക് ആതിഥ്യംവഹിക്കാൻ അവസരംലഭിക്കുന്ന ആദ്യ അറബ്‌രാജ്യമാണ് സൗദി അറേബ്യ. രണ്ട് ദിവസമായി നടക്കുന്ന ജി20 ഉച്ചകോടി നാളെ സമാപിക്കും.
